What do you think about people using the word? Do you use it? How do you know you’re not offending someone around you?

People have siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles that might have special needs, and if you’re calling someone else who doesn’t have special needs “retarded” you could be offending anyone around you who really has special needs or knows someone that does. People have feelings and if you just go around calling people that because they messed something up on accident or made a stupid joke that others think are funny until someone around you who really cares.

People use the word without knowing where it came from or how it was started, and they really don’t know what the true meaning, I’m going to sum it up for you. people began using the word retard when they started building cars, they called the brake the “retardation” which means slow, they then began calling people who couldn’t run fast “retarded” which eventually made its way over to people who were not very fast at doing their work or couldn’t say words as well as others so people started using “mental retardation”
